Evaporative Air Coolers are a great way of cooling a room without the expense of buying a traditional Air Conditioner. They are much quieter (perfect for bedrooms or studies), consume less power and don't require a hose to vent so are ideal for rooms which don't have external windows. They are also perfect for people wanting moisture to remain in the air (eg. some sufferers of Asthma don't want the air to be too dry) as traditional air conditioners also dehumidify.
For greater cooling, most of our models come with an internal freezer section which can be removed, placed into a freezer and then put back in again chilling the air even further. This type of cooler uses less than a third of the power of a portable air conditioner and can be over 75% cheaper to buy.
How do Coolers work? Once filled up with water and fitted with the freezer packs they soak up cooled water into a vertical pad then suck the hot air from the room through the back, pass it through the water charged pad and cool air is blow out of the front.
How to get the best out of a Cooler: For best performance position the unit in a location that will create a flow through air effect. The greatest cooling effect will be felt if the unit is operated in a partly opened doorway or window with the cool conditioned air directed into the room. It is also important to have a door or window partly opened away from the air cooler in order to create the flow through effect.
