What is a BTU?

1 BTU is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of liquid water by one degree from 60° to 61° Fahrenheit at a constant pressure of one atmosphere. As a general rule we advise you to buy an Air Conditioner with a minimum 7,000BTUs as this is the minimum required to cool a small room (18sq/m) on a hot day. Medium rooms (24sq/m) need around 10,000BTUs and larger rooms and office spaces (36sq/m) require around 15,000BTUs.

Question from Kim: Asked on 24/02/2013 Hi, if the unit is running constantly, how often does the water tank need attention?

Answer from Gavin: Answered on 25/02/2013
Hi, difficult to say, depends on how much moisture is in the air. A few hours maybe. I would keep an eye on it first time you use it to gauge the speed at which it works.

Don't forget you can set it to continuous drainage as well.

Regards

Question from Colin Campbell: Asked on 12/07/2012 what length is the hose at the back and can you get extra hoses for a longer length

Answer from Gavin: Answered on 17/07/2012
The hose is 1.5m in length.

It is not recommend to extend the hose as this will compromise performance, but it is possible, although we do not sell the extension parts.

Thanks

Thanks

Question from Jen: Asked on 28/05/2012 Can the Exhaust Hose be extended ?

Answer from Gavin: Answered on 30/05/2012
It is not recommend, no.

Thanks

Question from Tony@Zen: Asked on 20/09/2011 Hi, please could you confirm the size, it states the unit is 90cm wide, is this correct as per your web page (480x400x900)? I need to install in small server room. Surely its 90cm tall? Please could you confirm. Cheers Tony ;-D

Answer from mark h: Answered on 20/09/2011

Question from M: Asked on 26/08/2011 Hi, could you tell me what is the maximum cooling capacity in Watts and what is the cooling capacity (in Watts) for cooling air from 30 degrees C to 25 degrees C? Thanks

Answer from mark h: Answered on 26/08/2011
The cooling capacity is 3.5kW. You cant really measure the power it would take to reduce air from 30 to 25 degrees C as there would be too many other variables such as the size of the room, outside ambient temperature, heat sources in the room such a people, computers tv's etc

Question from Mark: Asked on 03/08/2011 Hello,

Can you tell me if this is currently in stock?

Thanks,

Mark

Answer from mark h: Answered on 04/08/2011
Hi, we will have stock again from Monday. Thanks

Question from ann: Asked on 27/06/2011 when it says twin hose does that mean it has two hoses that need putting out the window ,does it have a water tank that needs emptying thanks

Answer from mark h: Answered on 27/06/2011
Sorry this is a typo, it only has one hose that needs venting. There is a small internal tank but this will generally only need emptying before storage unless the climate is very humid or you are drying clothes. All excess moisture is vented out the hose
