5-Jul-2010 Simon: I will plan to use this on campsites in the mediteranean. Typically these sites will limit electric supply to 4-6amps, which for this machine at 1000w is fine. However, should the supply be slightly lower, do the units 'cut out' or just have less cooling power? Room space will be approx 2.3X7x1.9m max

mark h: Amcor have said that they should run but at reduced power, but they wont confirm 100% as these aren't normal operating conditions

mark h: Sorry, we don't know if these can be taken as hold luggage. The packaged weight is 45kg

22-Aug-2010 Rhyan: Can this unit be vented efficiently through awning or casement windows with the accessories included?

mark h: The fixing kits are designed to work best with Sash windows, but by using the pipe reducer the hose can be hung out a casement or awning window. Although the widows wont be sealed like a Sash, the performance wouldn't be affected significantly

23-Aug-2010 degsy16: doesn't there need to be an open door or window slightly for the exhaust outlet to pull air into, to vent out of the window via the pipe as when i hear the compressor kicking in it pulls the living room door open a bit because its obviously trying to pull air out of the room to go out of the window (model amcor plasma 12.000)

mark h: If a door or window is open slightly the fresh air drawn in can stop the air becoming oxygen deprived, however if the air outside is significantly warmer it will be harder to reduce the temperature inside the room so often closing all the windows and doors is the recommended option

18-Oct-2010 Alastair: I plan to cool a server room with approx 10 devices in, old Air Con unit was 7k BTU. This is quite a bit cheaper, Will it stand up to running 24/7 ?

mark h: If your previous model was a portable unit then there would be no problem cooling, however these units aren't designed for continuous 24/7 use. Most server rooms will use a Hi wall split system

mark h: Sorry we don't sell them. Fixed external vent kits are commonly available from most DIY superstores.

mark h: Yes it can be, its fitted with castors to aid mobility. The unit will need to be externally vented either through a window or wall vent

mark h: We would courier collect the unit and return it. In most cases they are replaced due to the time it takes for a repair, and the turn around time is generally 5 days.

mark h: All true air conditioning units will all need to be vented unfortunately, the only units which don't require venting are Air coolers but these aren't as powerful or efficient for cooling a whole room

mark h: The hoses are 130mm so any wall vent larger will accommodate it. Most DIY superstores sell hard plastic wall vents in a variety of colours with a cover so they can be sealed for the months you aren't using the air conditioner
