Comments, Questions and Answers

Expand/CollapseGeneral Feedback

14-Apr-2010 NH: What is maximum dB please?

mark h: Sorry the noise of this unit isnt known

23-May-2010 peter: my work shop is a converted garrage would it be ok to leave door ajar and put vent pipe out this way.

mark h: Yes, that would be fine. Some fresh air is a good idea to stop the air becoming stale

24-May-2010 Mitch: why are there two air vent holes on the back on this unit? Also is this unit suitable to run for long periods of time (can I run it all day everyday during hot weather)?

mark h: One is a blank. It can be run continuously if required.

24-May-2010 Matt: I need a portable air conditioning unit suitable for a room size 3.3m x 4.4m x 2.5m. There's one TV & a computer in the room with one window. I don't want to go ove £250.00 if possible, so what would you suggest?

mark h: You would require a minimum of 8000BTU, so all the units we sell would be suitable. Have a look at the 636212 for £129 if you want to save some £, or this unit would be suitable also

5-Jun-2010 Simon: My unit (now 2 years old) has started to smell. Can this be remedied or should I throw it away?

mark h: Its unusual that any units should smell after 2 years. If you have cleaned the filters periodically and emptied the water before storage and it still smells there isn't much more you can do unfortunately. There are companies that will service it and clean any bacterial build up that may be causing the smell, but generally it will be more cost effective to purchase a new one

14-Jun-2010 Sara Barton: What is the lowest temperature that one of your standard air conditioning units will cool down to. Given that there are no real heat sources in the room (People PCs etc). Needing to cool a room for product storage. Many Thanks Sara

mark h: The lowest thermostat setting on the majority of units is 18 degrees centigrade

27-Jun-2010 george mcc: how do you empty the water from a 12000 btu 641638 i have lost instructions

mark h: There is a drain plug on the back at the bottom, but you shouldn't need to empty it at all, only before you store it for the winter

4-Nov-2010 sharona: When using this as a dehumidifier does the hose have to be vented outside to remove the water as this would mean a window would have to be open at all time Thanks

mark h: Yes it would always need to be vented externally either out of a wall vent or a window.

17-Jan-2011 kevin smith: im currently looking for a portable aircondion unit and come across your product, before purchasing could you tell me wehther or not this product would be adaquate enough to cool down a loft in the summer. I bodybuild in the loft and last year it became so hot up their I had to join a gym for the rest of the summer as I couldnt bare the heat! would the product extract the ehat as well as providing enough cool air so I can breathe suffiently? if you could answer my question id be extremely greatfull many thanks

mark h: You may need to turn it on a few hours before you plan to use the loft (or set the timer) but providing the room isn't excessively large then it would easily do the job (this unit could generally do a large apartment or 3 bedroom house). You would need to externally vent the hose so may have to cut a vent into the wall. The portable air conditioners don't gather any external air, they only cool the existing air and vent the heat from the unit outside

20-Mar-2011 Mr J Brockbank Keswick Cumbria: could you please tel me which aircon unit you would use in a 7m long caravan lunar lexon 585si along with the spec sheet for required model

mark h: Any of the 12,000 BTU models such as this one will be more than suitable. Bare in mind that you will require an external vent for the hose. The specifications on the web site are the most detailed we are able to offer, however I can email you over the user manual.

21-Jun-2011 RT: Could the 12000 BTU used in a small celler of a club to keep kegs cool and reduced the chance of drinks fobbing?

mark h: If the room is no larger than 30m/sq with a ceiling height around 2.2m or less and you have a vent to put the hose out of then it would be suitable
